“But love your enemies, do good to them and lend to them without expecting to get anything in back. Then your reward would be great, and you will be children of the most high, because He is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. Be merciful just as your Father is merciful.”
How many of us human do good to those who choose to harm and hurt us? The first reaction that we have when we were hurt is to get even with our enemies if the time is right. There are many ways to take revenge on those we do not like. We avoid them, talk bad about them, choose not to help them. But the verses above is the opposite. God wants us to forgive and to show it by being kind instead. Forgiving and helping those who had hurt us is love and mercy. That is the heart of God. If God thinks the way we are thinking, we are finished. Like our own enemies, if there are, we have hurt God over and over again and He still forgive us and bless us. Remember we want to take revenge on those who are bad to us and how we want God to destroy them. But God is not like that. He love us as well as those we do not like. So if we want to be His children, the do what God says.
“live at peace with one another. Do not take revenge.”
Living is about enjoying life with people and nature. However, the joy and happiness of life will be gone or disturb when man starts to quarrel or harm one another. When someone hurts us, we feel unhappy and we think of taking revenge. We want to get even with him or her. You see, our pride is the main problem. We do not want others to humilate us. We do not want other people to see that we are beaten too. That is why we want to take revenge. Taking revenge actually makes the situation worst. A small problem can be a big problem for both persons. When such problems become too big, both parties will seek others for support. So we cannot live in peace when there are people who dislike us. That is why, we must live in peace and try not to confront others. For the sake of peace, we try to avoid hurting people. We must be kind and willing to be second best. Actually there is no real joy even if we win a quarrel because someone is hurting. Learn to forgive and do not keep any grudge. Remember the devil chief aim is to make us quarrel so that we fight.
Luke 1: 37
“For no word form God shall be void of power.”
Words nowadays are often mere words and many people do not really bother about it. The reason is, not many people want to trust or listen to other people. Personal pride is the one that make us refuse to listen to others. Because of that, we never change our mind or our life for the better. Of course, our mistrust of others make us not take heed to what others say. Even words from the Bible are not taken heed of. Why? Because people do not believe in God. If they do not believe in God, they will not even read the Bible. If they believe in God, they will believe the words written in the Bible. The verse above emphasized the power of God’s words. Every word in the Bible is powerful and must be taken heed of. The Bible contains God’s words. It is so powerful that the word will bring transformation in our life if we read it. So read the Bible to experience victory and blessings. Do not ignore it. It is life.
‘Leave her alone,” said Jesus “Why bothering her? She has done beautiful thing to me.”
Doing beautiful thing is not easy. It is costly most of the time. Mary anointed Jesus with a very expensive perfume which was equal to a year’s wage! Your personal pride is at stake too. But Jesus was pleased with Mary. Mary gave her best because she must have loved Jesus because he had raised her brother Lazarus from death! When we have good thoughts about others, we tend to do beautiful things to them. If we are so thankful to Jesus for saving us, we must have good thoughts about Him and will love Him like Mary. Is Jesus pleased with us? What are beautiful things that we can do? We don’t have to be boss to show kindness, care and hospitality to others. We can start with little things at home, with family members, needy people and in the church. Like what Mary did, it was a personal matter. We need personal devotion to God. We need to approach Jesus directly by helping other needy people.
Acts 10: 34-35
Then Peter began to speak: “I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism but accepts from every nation the one who fears him and does what is right.”
Many of us, myself included build wall around us to keep others out of our life, out of benefits etc. Before this, Peter only thinks of the Jews and not the Gentiles. We also only include our own to receive benefits or to be included in our team. Showing favouritism is a sign of not having the love of God. If God will save anyone, they are those who fears Him and does what is right. God’s love includes everyone and everyone is given the chance to fear God and do what is right.
And He said to them, ” Cast the net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.“
Jesus asked Peter and even though Peter said they had cast the net all day, he just followed Jesus’s instruction and was shock to find so many fish. The point is obedience and faith. Peter followed knowing that something will happen because Jesus said it. When we trust people, we will just follow what they ask us because we have faith in what they said. In God it is the same. When we believe that God will do something for us, we will just obey His command. When we obey His will for us, He will give what we request. So obey Him and we will receive.
“Sanctify them with You Word. Your Word is truth“.
What is truth to us? What is truth to the world? These are two questions that would lead us to search for the truth. Truth is devoid of lies, deceit and any form of not dishonesty. When Jesus mentioned the truth, He refers to the Scriptures which is telling the truth about everything in this world, about God and about the devil. He is telling us that He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. What is the evidence? It s in the life that He showed. The sacrifice, the Holy Spirit and Eternal life. If we are to read and meditate upon His Word day and night, the Word will sanctify our mind and replace all that we have learned with the truth. That is why, reading and meditating the Word is so important to us. So we depend on God’s word to lead us to the truth.
John 11: 25
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.”
Knowing Jesus and accepting Him as our Saviour and Lord is the step that we must all take to inherit eternal life. The verse above is telling us that once we receive Jesus as our Lord, even when we die, we shall live. In other words, even if we die this life, in the next life, we shall live forever with God. Unlike those who die without accepting Jesus, they will not live in heaven or have life. They will go to eternal condemnation. The issue is believing in Jesus and accepting Him. We will all die in this world, but where we go in the next life depends on who we believe in.
Now we know that God does not hear sinners but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does His will, He hears him.
If anyone is a worshiper of God and does His will, He hears him. He will be like a house build on a rock and when the waves rises the house will stand. This verse is consistent with the other verses in the other Gospels. Of course God will hear everyone but He will act when the person acknowledge and worship Him. When the person follows what His will is God will listen and help the person. Anyone of us will understand that if we do not follow what someone asks us to do, he will not listen to us even is we ask him. The person that he sure will listen to is those who will obey him. That is our natural tendency. So if we do not obey God’s will, do not expect us to receive what we ask.
That day Isaac’s servants came and told him about the well they dug. They said, “We’ve found water!”( Vs 32)
The whole chapter is about Isaac redigging his father Abraham’s wells which were stopped up by the Philistines after the death of Abraham. They filled them with earth. Isaac left for the valley of Gerar instead of Egypt in obedience to God. In Gerar he redug the wells but each time it was disputed and enmity arose. The he moved to dig in another place and he was eventually left in peace.
Have we ever feel so dry in our spiritual life? Have we such a wonderful experience with God and now over time our relationship have become just a memory? The well had already been filled by the ways and cares of the world. When we talk about personal renewal or revival, we must look towards the source, the Holy Spirit. The water in the well represent the Holy Spirit. It is not an easy task to dig well in those days. And it won’t be easy to connect with the Holy Spirit if we do not make the necessary effort. Isaac obeyed God to go to Gerar rather than to Egypt during the famine. Gerar was a difficult region but Egypt was everything then. If we really want a revival then obedience to God is the first thing. Gerar means a place of meditation and two times Isaac struck water, he was disputed and opposed. When we discover the Holy Spirit, we are sure to find unfavourable response from even the church members or leaders. The second step is to read and meditate upon God’s word day and night ( Psalms 1). Those who meditate day and night is like a tree planted by the streams of water. Then we need to reaffirm our covenant with God and start all over. Redig our well.
For God so love the world that He gave is begotten Son that whosoever believed in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.
Belief in Jesus Christ is what is all about to enter the kingdom of God. We still have people who says that unless we have this gifts, unless you do this, or unless you are an Evangelical or a Catholic etc, you cannot have everlasting life. The verse above did not say other things except to believe in Jesus Christ. That is plain clear enough. There are so many denomination that claim theirs as the only pathway and the others as heading towards hell! They seem to hold that selfish attitude of grouping or segregating people, which is out of the way of love.
The meaning of the word “Believe” is clearer when we honestly submit ourselves to God. During that transformation processes, God will show us what next to do in our life. Of course, His Spirit dwells in us and start doing something in our lives. Love towards God change our whole perspective of the world. This belief begins from the heart- inward.
Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, or stand in the way of sinners, or sit in seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in His law, he meditates day and night. He is like a tree, planted by the streams of water; which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither, whatever he does prospers.
The verses above tell us to always be on the side of the truth and to remain in the truth and to absorb the truth. To always be on the side of the truth means we do not do what the wicked, sinners or mockers do. To remain in the truth is to acquire and absorb God’s law. The need to read and meditate upon God’s word will enable us to absorb and deepen our understanding of God’s laws. The laws of the Lord is like water or nourishment. When we read and meditate upon His words, we are nourishing and drinking from it. This enable us to bear fruits in season and sustain our faith. If we do not meditate upon God’s law, we will be left dry and eventually wither. So let us read God’s Words and meditate upon it day and night.
When Esau was forty years old he married judith the daughter of Beeri the Hittite, and Basemath the daughter of Elon the Hittite; and they brought grief to Isaac and Rebekah.
The word Grief is not something that every parent would want to experience when they are old. The grief includes sadness, sorrows, hurt and worries. And if they are within our household, that would make our life miserable. That was what Isaac and his wife Rebekah experienced form the wives of Esau. Esau was not supposed to marry other tribes except from his own tribe but probably he would not listen to his parents. When we have people of different belief in our own family, there will certainly be difficulties and clashes. If Christians marry a non believer, there will be problems if the Christian cannot bring the unbelieveing spouse to Christ. It is not good to see our own siblings moving away from God. We want all members of our family saved. Children must listen to the advice of their parents because they are suppose to make their parents full of joy. The joy of having a baby must continue until death. Children are crowns to parents but to Isaac and Rebekah, Esau was not.
Luke 19: 40
He answered, ” If they remain silent, the very stones will cry out.”
Of course we see things through our own eyes and perceive according to our own experience or opinion. When the leaders asked Jesus to tell his disciples not to shout with joy too loud, that was Jesus’ answer to them. In other words, they should not be stopped if they want to praise God the way they want to. Those who asked Jesus to tell his disciples are the teachers of the law. Crying out loud, or singing out loud is not orderly according to some disciplines. What Jesus also meant is that every thing that God created will praise God. They will acknowledge God their creator. That is why, even the stones will cry out to praise God. Why are stones singled out and not the trees? The stones does not sway like the trees. The trees are easily moved by the wind, but not the stones which are very still. If the stones who show no life will spring into action, what more to say man. Do not stop our hearts if it wants to open up to praise God.
“By your patience, possess your soul.”
Some texts refer to patience as endurance or steadfastness. It is true that, impatience always cause us to make the wrong move at times. Because we are not patience to wait, we tend to make haste decision that sometimes works against us. But when we become patience, we would be able to prevent ourselves from making mistakes and endangering our souls. A lot of things can easily influence our lives, especially what people say. If we are not careful, we might be compromising our own principles or even our faith if we are not able to endure such temptation or pressure. So, it is safe if we have patience in our life. Patience give us time to make the correct decisions in life. It prevents us from falling into traps. People might not be patience with us, but since we are responsible for our action, we might have to endure what others think of us. Even if we see difficulties a head of us, it is wise to be patience to ensure the right move for us.
2 Samuel 9: 3
Then the king said, “Is there still someone of the house of Saul, to whom I may show the kindness of God?”
In the first verse, David mentioned….” to whom I may show kindness. ” Then David repeated saying , “to whom I may show the kindness of God.”
This shows that David is aware that the kindness that he himself want to show to that person is actually from God. He is telling Ziba that God wants him to show kindness to the person. David just want to obey the prompt of God in his heart to do it or to act. Are we being asked by God to show kindess to some one in needs or are we delaying or ignoring the prompting of the Holy Spirit to help?
Those who plan good shall be granted mercy and quietness.
David sought of doing good to the household of king Saul for the sake of Jonathan. So the crippled son of Jonathan was brought in before him. He restored whatever belongs to Saul and gave them to his crippled grandson. On top of that, David placed him among his children to eat at his table. The verse above is doing just that. To plan and to act. When we do that, God will show mercy upon our life too. He brings quietness to our life. So what we do to others, good or bad will affect us too. When we show mercy to others, God will be merciful to us. When we forgive others, we receive forgiveness from God too.
And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much raise his eyes to the heaven, but beat his breast, “God , be merciful to me, a sinner.”
The tax collector was aware of his spiritual condition and would not dare even to raise his head to heaven. He knew nothing is hidden from God and he begged for mercy. When we know we are wrong, that is the natural thing to do, be humble and admit it. Humility is a bold move towards repentance. True repentance is what frees us from the clutches of sin. When we admit our wrong and seek forgiveness, there is nothing to hold already. We just let go and let God forgive us. The other man thought that by such giving and following the law will vindicate him from the wrong, but such attitude of pride shuts God’s grace upon our lives. Worst still he regards the other as a sinner. Comparing ourselves with others often lead us to think highly of ourselves. That is what puff us up. It make us proud and try to bring glory to ourselves. The mercy of God is there for those who are willing to humble themselves. Those who humble themselves is brave enough to be humilated and be looked down upon by other people.
2 Samuel 9: 1
David asked, ” Is there anyone still left of the house of Saul to whom I can show kindness for Jonathan’s sake?”
We all know about David and King Saul’s son Jonathan. How king Saul tried to kill him because he was a threat to the throne. Jonathan was kind to David and warned him of his father. David’s friendship became a bond of love and trust. But when king Saul and his son were killed in battle against the Philistines, the remaining members of Saul families have to flee or else the person who became king will exterminate them, custom in those days. Jonathan’s son, who became crippled as they fled was the last person of the house of Saul. They hid him, Mephibosheth at a remote place where he lived in fear and poverty and at the mercy of those who looked after him.
The verse above tells us of the heart of the man after God’s heart. David was thinking of doing something good to any remnant of his former enemy. He wants to do good for Jonathan’s sake. When David was told of the crippled man, he asked them to bring him to him. There David manifested grace upon him by reinstating Saul estate to him and making him as one of the princes by eating at the King’s table. We are like Mephibosheth, crippled by sins and full of fear and uncertainty. We cannot do anything to get out of our situation. It is God who reached out to us to save us and give us benefit and blessings. We can be God’s son too.
So, as Christians, are we thinking of doing good to others. Are we taking all opportunities to show kindness to people who are in need, who cannot repay us? Are we ready to give like what King David did?
1 Corinthians 12:6
” God works through different (people) in different ways”
We are different in many ways but the Holy Spirit can unite us in this diversity. The difference in us is very obvious- language, race, character etc. That is why we must exercise caution when dealing with others. We need patience and understanding in our relationship with others. We must avoid imposing our own ideas or likes etc upon others because they might look at those ideas differently. The main reason why people are quiet at times to our ideas or opinion is they want to avoid quarrels or misunderstanding and not always because they agree. So when we see people doing something different than ours, we must understand that we are not the same. God created us that way.In terms of gifts, we are given different gifts too. So we might have different abilities or skills for the same ultimate purpose- to glorify and worship God.
Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.
The Prophet Isaiah thought that what he had spoken were good but when he went to heaven in his spirit, he realized that he was a man of unclean lips. Yes, sometimes we are just speak any words without realizing that our words could be corrupt words that represent ourselves and which can also corrupt others. If we do consider carefully the words that come out of our mouth, we could be corrupting others or we could be hurting or wounding others. The responsibility falls on us, as the speakers. We have to be careful with the words that we utter so that the words can encourage and build up others in the faith. Grace can be imparted through our words. We not only show kindness by giving something in kinds to others but we can be kind with words too. Soothing and comforting words to those who are suffering. Kind words to those who are hurting etc.
Luke 14: 11
“For whoever exalt himself will be humbled and whoever humble himself will be exalted.“
Everyday we see something that make us wonder why people would do such things that we think should not have been done. The more we become critical of others, the more we put ourselves up and look down on others. Sometimes, exalting ourselves might not be that clear, but one thing lead to another, and if we keep on reminding people that their opinion is not good, then we are saying that ours is much better. Most likely we might consider ourselves wiser, more capable etc. And maybe we will tell other people that so and so is wrong. This make us judgemental towards others. That is why, there are times we keep the peace which is far better than quarrel over minor things. Exalting ourselves or trying to make ourselves in better position than others is not a wise move. To be humble, to approve others more than ourselves is a commendable move. It is better that others approve of us than ourselves. We could be humilated by the humility of others.
Luke 22: 46
“Why are you sleeping?” he asked. “Get up and pray. Otherwise temptation will overpower you.”
Sometimes we are so tired that we just don’t want to pray. We even forgot to pray at critical times, especially during difficult times or during temptation. Our minds are sometimes too preoccupied with worries or doubts that asking God to help us is already forgotten. Our wanting to sleep quickly make us lazy to pray. The verse advises us to pray to go against temptation. Temptation of all kinds will come to us, either physically or in our mind, through our thoughts. If we do not pray, there is nothing else to hold our thoughts from invading our minds. Pray move our mind and heart to look up to God for help. Pray enables us to seek God and get ready to withstand temptation. Why did Jesus said that temptation will overpower us even when we sleep? May be we are tempted to sleep too. But I felt that, what Jesus meant is we are all sleeping if we never pray. People who are not praying are still in deep sleep. In other words, they are not aware of what is going on around them. Praying will make us aware of what is happening around us and get help from God.
Luke 18: 1
Man ought always to pray and not faint.
Many of us do not pray as often as needed.Praying is a need, not an option. Prayer opens the door of blessing from above.. that is the blessings of God’s grace upon our lives each and everyday. Man being the head of the family needs to pray for himself and his family. Prayers are covering upon our lives. We are in all kinds of danger everyday. Most of the dangers that we face are unseen to the eyes. The spiritual realms are active around us and we would not know. We need God to help us handle things that we cannot see and do not know. Therefore prayer is a must eventhough we are so busy at times. Do not let tiredness, or sins etc prevent us from prayers. We must always talk to our Father in heaven.
2 Cor 8:7
As ye abound in everything…., see that ye abound in this grace also.
Yes, God wants us to bear fruits so that people will eat of the fruit. It is what will become of the believers of Christ. They are transformed in everyway. They are abound in everything. And they are also to be abound in grace too. Giving is grace in action. Giving of kindness, love, peace and joy will make the world a better place to live. Nowadays, part of the world is full of food but part of the world is starving! There is not much sharing and giving. The world could have been fed if rich countries are helping to feed the poor countries. There are wars because some people want to grab power, and they don’t want to offer peace. So as believers in Christ, we should improve our giving as an indication of the maturity of faith. Grace is giving something to people what can’t repay.
The tomb is empty.
Today, Jesus has risen from the grave. The grave is empty! That’s what the disciple saw, and also the women. This was one event that the enemies of Christ were trying to deny since the day the tomb was empty. Even today, the enemies of God are telling everyone that it had not happened. Somebody had stolen the body they said. To the Christians, we are very happy indeed, but we actually do not mind what people say about the tomb because, when Jesus rose from the dead, He entered our hearts when we received Him. No form of denial about the risen Christ can actually influence us because the truth has enterred our hearts. That is why, born again Christians knew their God because He now dwell in us. Have you any encounter with God? If you ever had any encounter with God, you will know that Jesus is the true Son of God. No one can ever make you change your mind.
You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forever more ( Psalm 16:11)
The main reason why some people would not accept Jesus as Lord and saviour is because they are worried of losing the enjoyment that they are going through at that moment. They have everything to be used to enjoy life and when they look at the Christians, they see them going to church and joining activities that are boring and lifeless. They said the Christians do not go to night clubs, they also abstain from strong drinks and these to them are what make life happy. The verse above will tell us that, when Christ is in us, we have the fullness of joy. Our whole perspective of life will change the moment Jesus is in us. We will not be the same. You will not crave for beer anymore. You will not want to do things that you love to do. If we want true joy and pleasure, Jesus Christ is the source. We have to take Him in our life.
He satisfies the longing soul and fills the hungry soul with goodness. ( Ps 107:9)
The love that God has given into this world was distorted since the fall of man. Infact God has put eternity in every one of us but it had become distorted too. No longer we long for God or for goodness. We become selfseeking and greedy. If we really observe the animals, the animals seemed better than man nowadays. The animals more loving and faithful but people are no longer can be trusted. That is why, we need to renew our relationship with God. We need God to shed his love into our hearts again so that we have God’s love that can satisfy. God’s love is more than enough for us because when his love is in us, we will see the world in a different perspective. He is all that we need. And if God is in us, we will bear fruits, fruits of the Holy Spirit. We become patient, kind, humble etc.
The mouth of the righteous utters wisdom, and his tongue speaks justice.
An evident of goodness or righteousness is wisdom and justice. When we talk about wisdom, we are talking about what is wise and not foolishness. It is something good, helpful and encouraging and will create problem to the utterer or others. Wisdom relates to God. Wisdom is knowing God and obeying Him. True understanding is knowing God. When we talk about wisdom, we are talking about what God desire of man in living his life, how he live in harmony with what God has created. God is the source of wisdom. A righteous person speaks justice which happen to be truth in love. Careless words hurt people and ourselves too. Here we are not fair to people. Sometimes an unrighteous person will shame people for no reason. They might bring disrepute to other people when they speak words which create injustice. Talking about the wrong of others that we do not really know is injustice to others. Sometimes people do not bother to listen to certain people because their words are not wise and just.
“Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the Lord your God for He is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity.”
We are often not sincere when we show outward acts of repenting when our heart is far from it. There is no point to pretend to regret for the sins we have committed when in actual fact our heart has not changed at all. That is why God says that His eyes is upon, a heart that is broken than those who utter words of regret but not from a broken heart. When a person is broken, there is nothing to hide already. Many people say they will repend but only in words, not from the heart. Outward show of repentance is not enough. It should be from the inside. When it is sincere, God will relent sending calamity.
I was right on the cliff-edge, ready to fall, when God grabbed and held me.
Being conscious of our spiritual state like the Psalmist is what we need to be so that we are not caught off guard. In fact, everyday we face dangers of all kinds and can easily be dead if not for some act by someone or ourselves. The Psalmist is describing a situation where death could have occurred to him if God had not interfered. God’s eyes upon all of us and He knows actually where we are and He will intervene at such critical moments. That is why we need to give thanks to God for rescuing us countless times and without us knowing it. Health wise, we could have diseases that can easily kill us, but for His intervention, we are able to live the next day.
” But love your enemies, do good and lend, hoping for nothing in return and your reward will be great and you will be sons of the most high, for He is kind to the unthankful and evil.” ( Luke 6:35)
When we talk about enemies, we are talking about those who might plan to hurt or destroy us. These people are not good to us and might be hating us for all kinds of reason. But we know that they will not be good to us. They are against us and will find the opportunity to get even or destroy us. But God says, we must love them, do good to them and lend. He says we will be rewarded. Many of us would want our own enemies destroyed or being punished if they hurt us. We want something bad to happen to us. But God also says He is kind to the unthankful and evil. So God loves not only us biut also our enemies. Why God asks us to love our enemies and to do good to them? Doing good to our enemies or those we do not like build friendship and good relationship. This act will reconcile enemies and prevent fights or quarrel to happen. It is like us parents wanting our children to be good with one another because they belong in the family. This is the way of love, to do good and defeat hatred and bitterness.
” I will cause the shower to come down in his season; there will be showers of blessing.” ( Ezekiel 34:26)
Man always insists that what they want must come now or else! If what we want is late in coming, we will feeling angry or unhappy. We will do something that show our disapproval- grumble grumble etc. Probably we will call the fellow, ” Why so slow?” That is basically the problem with us. When God’s love enter our hearts, there will be patience, thankfulness and kindness. Patience to wait for the blessings which of course is grace. It is by the grace of God, by His kindness and love that we receive blessings. God gives at the right time based on when we can receive it. Some people might abuse what they receive if given at the wrong time. When there is showers, there is an overflow. In other words, what God gives to us, should also go to the others through us. There is always an extra.
“Be glad in the Lord and rejoice ye righteous (Ps 32:11)
Why should Christians be rejoiceful? All Christians should be happy because Jesus is in their boats. When we have Jesus in our boat, we are safe and secured. We have eternal life, we have peace in our life. We have everything too. That is why, we should rejoice because we have found the real peace and joy. Jesus is God, the only true God. Who cannot be happy?
“To give light to those who sit in the darkness and the shadow of death; To guide our feet into the way of peace.” ( Luke 1: 79)
The reasons for the coming of Christ, as mentioned by Luke is to give light to those in the darkness and under the shadow of death. We who are of the light should pass on the light to those around us so that they too will become children of the light. Those who are yet to believe and receive in Christ are under the shadow of death. They will die in their sins if they did not receive the light of Christ. Therefore we who are believers should bring this light to those who have yet to know Christ so that they will not be under the shadow of death, but in the light.
“I have compassion on the multitude (Matt 15:32)
Jesus love everyone. He loves the multitude. He loves the whole world! He used his authority to feed the five thousands. How many of us use such opportunity to help others? If we have such power or authority, will it be used to help others or otherwise? if we have certain ability or skills, is it use to help others? God’s compassion led Him to send Jesus to the world. Our compassion to another will surely make us do something for that person. A compassionate spirit will move us to help others and be kind to them.
“He is risen!“(Mark 16:6)
If we tell people who are not Christian that Jesus is risen, they will laugh at you. The reason is simply, they are not convinced because they need to see with their own eyes first. Even some of the disciples refused to believe until they see Him and place the hands on his wounds. Something that happened a very long time ago will have sceptics and hardcore unbelievers! There is no point to prove that Jesus has risen. No need to argue at all. All we need to show is a change life on our part. The life of love peace and joy, the world cannot give. Only Jesus will give. If I had an encounter with God now, do I need to see Him risen? Jesus had revealed Himself to people throughout ages. People believed not because they had seen Him risen with their own eyes but because they had experience His presence in their life. Personal encounters happened throughout histories and they do not have to see Him risen!
“When they heard that Jesus was alive and that she had seen Him, they did not believe it.”( Mark 16:11)
The Disciples did not believe that Jesus has risen when told by Mary Magdeline. In spite of the fact that they had seen Jesus perform miracles, they still couldn’t believe it. We are all the same. We want to see it with our own eyes in order to believe in something. So there is no faith. If we believe that Jesus had risen without seeing it happened with our own eyes, that means, we have faith in what He has said. Faith is believing in something that we do not see with our own carnal eyes. Nowadays, things have to be proven. otherwise noone will accept it.If we have to depend on proof and evident all the time, we might get old and never trust in anything. Many years ago, I saw a star shining brightly and then it suddenly move towards me. From a small star in the universe, it moved with such a speed that within seconds, the light had reached me as I lay on my bed. I was lifted up! Do you want proof? I would not be able to, but this had happened. That is why, God works in different ways.
“Waiting to satisfy the crowd, Pilate released Barabbas to them. He had Jesus flogged and handed him over to be crucified.”( Mark 15:15)
Pilate did what everyone of us would do if we are under pressure from other people. In fact, most of us are under the influence of other people to act. Some people would not dare to do something but they will ask others to do it for them. If something went wrong, they would not get the blame but the person who had made the decision will be blame. If you are a leader, there would be others who would try to get you to decide on something so that you might be in trouble. People can easily get us into trouble if we are easily influenced by others. Pilate can make his own decision but because he wants to please the crowd, he comply to their request. Many people are easily caught by human pride or human folly. Unless we live in the truth, we will always be under the influence of others.
” If he comes suddenly, do not let him find you sleeping. What I say to you, I say to everyone: “Watch!”( Mark 13: 36-37)
Jesus was telling His disciples about the end times. Many people are asking so that they will be prepared for His coming. But those who are in the Lord and obedient to His will is always prepared. The problem is, when we know when a person is coming to visit us, we will only act when the date of his coming is close. Other days, we will not bother much. The Bible tells us about victory over sins etc. Paul also mentioned life is like a race. We have to compete and reach the finishing line victorious.
“Bless the Lord O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name.( Psalms 103:1)
Years back, I heard my spirit singing ‘ I lift my hands to you Lord,’ and immediately I tried to record it on tape recorder. Our old self will not want us to Bless God but our new life will. Yes, this verse is urging us to worship God within us, too, not only with out lips. Praising God in our spirit surely bring great honour and glory to God because it is spirit to God, who is Spirit. The only way to do this is to be still and let our thoughts and heart focuss on God and our soul will begin to sing to exalt and honour God. So let every thing within us bless the Lord. Our soul, our spirit our mind bless the Lord.
“I will bless you and you will be a blessing.”( Gen. 12:2)
If God has blessed us, we should be a blessing. In other words, what God gave us, we share with others, or with those in need. If it is joy, we bring joy to others. If it is wealth, then wealth we share. If it is good health, advice others on how to live healthily. So God bless us for a purpose and seldom for our own. We are not alone or to be alone. Be kind and look for opportunity to bless others since we look up to God to bless us. The more we bless others, the more we are blessed.
” The Lord our God is merciful and forgiving, even though we have rebelled against Him.” ( Daniel 9:9)
On the cross, one of the two thieves found forgiveness because he requested for it from Jesus. He had requested Jesus to remember him when He enter His kingdom. Just to remember him… is a powerful phrase, which is used in a number of books in the Bible. When they asked God to remember them, they were holding to a thread that will snap any moment…just wait on the mercy of God. The mercy of God is found in His ever forgiving heart to those who call upon Him. For those who humble themselves and come to God will receive mercy and forgiveness. Such is the love of God, full of mercy and forgiveness and kindness.
“Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. ( John 3:3)
This verse is about change or transformation. If we haven’t changed, we haven’t moved yet. We are still where we are. If we haven’t been born again, we cannot enter heaven. The Bible mention of the believers as being born again or having a new life, or new creation. The old had passed, the new has come. So there is a change, from the old to the new. Some people think that by changing their name, they are different. In the Bible, it is not like that. We have to move and leave the old self. The old nature is replaced by the new nature. The reborn is a restart but for a new beginning.
And Jesus said to him, “Put your sword in its place, for all who takes the sword will perish by the sword.”( Matt 26:52)
This is one verse that is largely ignored by many. When Judas Iscariot led the leaders to take Jesus away, one of the disciples took his sword and slashed one of the soldier’s ear and Jesus rebuked him saying the above words. This is a clear warning to us all. If we use sword on others, others will use the swords on us. That is the message. Do something good, good things will come. Bad things we do will only invite bad things. That is why, we should think before we do something. In our speech, this is also true. Badly said words will invite bad replies too. Reap what we sow is one of the natural principles taught in the Bible. Actually blaming others for many of our problems is not wise. Most of the source of such problems might be from us.
” And because lawlessness will abound, the love many will grow cold. But those who endures to the end will be saved.”( Mat 24: 12-13)
Jesus was telling His desciples about the tribulation before His second coming. Lawlessness will abound. People will go against the governments and there are no public order because there is inability to impose rules of law. I other words, evil deeds will be out of control. If we look at many of the countries of the world, many are battling insurgents or rebels. These will be too powerful to get rid off and therefore civil wars will make life difficult. Crimes sure will increase because of lawlessness. The love for God and what is good will deminish because everyone want to take matters into their own hand. Before, they were merely controlled by a stronger hand but now, they feel that they are more free to do what they want to do. Self discipline is discarded already. Their love and fear of God will grow cold and soon they will go back to the old life of lawlessness and be caught back to the old life. But those who endures these test will be saved. Will be saved means, they will not go back to their old life but remain in the new life, which will ensure eternal life.
” Which of the two did what the father wanted?”( Matthew 21:28-31)
Obedience is what is required as a believer of Jesus Christ. The parable of the two sons, the first was asked by the father to go and work in the vineyard. Although he refused at first, he still went. But the other, replied “yes” but did not go. The first obeyed although at first he doesn’t want. Jesus commended the first who went grudglingly at first. Everything hinge on obedience to God and His words. That is what is happening to many of us nowadays. Many got immediate blessings but others did not, all because of obedience. When we see others being blessed by God, we must look at ourselves. Have we listened to the word and obeyed it? Excuses after excuses make us disobedient.
“Truly I tell you,” he said, “this poor widow has put in more than all the others. All these people gave gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.” ( Luke 21:3-4)
i learned two things here. God looks at sincerity of heart and how much such giving would mean to us. Giving, if done out of love and concern for another is what giving is all about. We all know that, if we give to the ministry, we are supporting what God wants to be done. We are giving to God if we support the ministry. Many people refuse to support pastors because they do not realize that the Pastors are called by God to serve Him. Some even do not want pastors to receive much. Jesus said that the workers deserve their pay or salary. Give cheerfully to God. The old woman gave everything she had. She can buy her meal but she rather give all to God. It would have mean much to her because that was all she has. Most of us only give our extras. We are worried, we would not have enough. This is what is preventing us from giving something that pleases God. God only ask us to put aside our tithes of a tenth. When we love God more, giving is not a problem. The issue of giving is the issue of the heart.
“Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.”( Mat 18: 19)
This is one beautiful words of Jesus concerning those who ask for forgiveness of sins. If we petition with them too, it will be done by God the Father. Even if two agree, will be done by our Father in heaven. Have we ever pray for others who want to confess their sins and ask for forgiveness? This is a challenge for every Christians to support others in prayer. Support to our brethren is what love is all about. We want others to be forgiven so that they too will receive salvation. Let us be generous too for the sake of others so that we too will be forgiven.
“ My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge..” ( Hosea 4:6 )
The reason why I did not do well in examinations is because my knowledge was not enough to enable me to answers the questions. I did not study long enough to gain the necessary knowledge in that subject or topic. So I failed. There will be no certificate. But if there are rules and regulations and the consequences are stated there but I did not care to read or know, then i will bear the consequenses. The Word of God must be read so that we will be able to stir clear of any danger. So that we will know the warnings there. But if we refuse to read God’s word, we are being destroyed by our own ignorance and by our refusal to gain knowledge. The people of Israel rejected knowledge and they kept on going against God. God’s Word is there for us to read and know God’s message to us.
” Give me John the Baptist’s head on a platter.” ( Matthew 14:8 )
Most of us are trapped by our own words. Just like King Harod, who was so happy with the girl’s dance that he told her to asked for anything, and he will do it. This is the problem with us sometimes. We lose our defence because of pride. In fact, when we say we can do anything, we are actually boasting or we are proud. So pride can cause us to fall because pride actually is our enemy. Because of pride, we do not want to apologise or say sorry. The Bible says, ” Pride comes before a fall.” God hates pride. So, we need to be patience so that we do not make decision based entirely on our emotion. We must learn to recognize what we can do and what we cannot do so that we are not trapped by our own words. We must remind ourselves to be careful in the words that we utter.
” So it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come forth, separate the wicked from the just.. and cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.” ( Matthew 13: 49-50)
Jesus made it very clear of what will happen at the end of the age where the good will be separated from the bad. The bad will be thrown in the furnace of fire where suffering for eternity begins. In this world, many people do not receive this well because they were taught nice words. Some even thought that this will not happen because they think that no such thing will happen to anyone. That is why, many people just ignored it. But if we care to listen to testimonies of those who died for a moment you will be told of fire and hell waiting there and Jesus has power over everything in the next world. So tellling people with nice words and not telling them of what Jesus said is misleading. If common sense do come to us, we would like bad and good separated. We dream of everything to be good and there is no evil. This is what Jesus is telling us. We are being warned of what will happen at the end of the age.
“Those who receive the seed on stony places, this is he who hears the word and immediately receiveds it with joy.. yet he has no root in himself but only endures for a while.” (Matthew 13: 20-21)
Many of us are easily excited to hear God’s word when we hear it from some preachers. We receive the Word with joy but not for long. A few months later, the excitment disappear and we are back to where we were before. The reason is, the Word has not taken root in us. In other words, we did not read to remember and understand. To remember the Word will ensure that the word is kept in our heart from where we can tap of it. We can recall and act on it. The Word of God is alive and if we do not attempt to meditate upon it, it will soon be forgotten and lost from our heart or mind. Since it is a living word or alive, if it stays long in us, the Word of God can bring in our life. So receive the word with gladness and meditate upon it so that it will take root upon which we will hold on and depend.
“Give praise to the Lord, proclaim His Name; make known among the nations what He has done and proclaim that His name is exalted.( Isaiah 12:4)
Similar verses are also found in 1 Chronicles 16:8 , Psalms 96:2-3 and Psalms 105. This is an instruction and a command to give praise to God. There is no option at all. We are to praise God, proclaim His Name among the nations of what He has done. He is to be exalted. To praise means to speak of or sing about the good deeds of somebody or God. It could be in any form of utterance- singing, praying or speaking. But the basic point is, the lips must praise and not silent. Naturally, a thankful heart and a joyful heart will give praise. In Psalms 50: 23 ” Whosoever offer the sacrifice of praise glorify Me…” So we need to cultivate the habit of praising God all our days. Yes, give praise to God, proclaim His Name among the nations.
“Since God chose you to be the holy people He loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience” (Colossians 3:12)
I would like to focuss on kindness. Kindness is also the fruit of the Holy Spirit. In other words, if the Holy Spirit dwells in us, we bear such fruit. Kindness is of God. When we think of God’s grace, we are looking at part of Grace- kindness. We have nothing, so He gives. To be kind is to be gentle with others, to care for others and to be available when others need us. So kindness is essentially an act of giving and not expecting a return. How? Give your time to help those in need. Give your kind words to motivate, or comfort or encourage others. Be merciful means not to hurt others with unkind words. Give something as an of a thankful heart. To help others in any way is kindess in action. Acts of kindness is one thing that will be remembered not only on earth but also in heaven.
“He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward. And who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward.” ( Matthew 10:41)
Receiving people is actually giving. When we receive people, we give our time, money perhaps or status just to make someone feel honoured. Receiving people with goodness is actually honouring those people. We receive a prophet, we will get a reward benefitting a prophet. That is why, when we honour other people, we will also be honoured. Many people want to be honoured but they look down on people or they do not respect other people. It is always beneficial to be respectful of people and to humble ourselves before those who are position higher than us. Surely we too will be given their blessings tos.
” Then the disciples woke Him saying, ” Lord, save us. We are perishing!”( Matthew 8:25)
Jesus was sleeping in the boat when the storms came. His disciples we in terrible fear of death, and that is natural as human being. Our main fear is death. Even though they were with Jesus for sometimes, they do not really know Jesus and what He is capable of. So they were terrified. They saw Jesus healed the sick and perform miracles but they had not seen Him commanding the strong wind to stop and the sea to be calm. We are always like the disciples. We seldom take advantage of wanting to know more about God once we are with godly people. The Disciples were with Jesus but they did not really know Him. Our knowledge of God is often very shallow because we only want to learn something that we can feel and see with our senses. We do not want to know what is below the still deep water. We only like to swim in shallow water, because we just want to float. We have yet to swim into the deep. The Word of God is like a river. There is the shallow part for the young and there are the deep part for the mature. If we read it more and search deeper into the Word, we will learn more of the God we believe in. Once we know what God is capable of doing, we will not fear the storms of life.
“If you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if do not forgive men of their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. ( Matthew 6: 14-15)
Trespasses could mean, their wrongdoings to us. Sometimes, people hurt our feelings. They trespasses our emotion or life. Perhaps they did more than that such as they took what belong to us. Or they caused misery upon our life. They talked bad about us and we are angry. When people did bad things to us, our response is often in the negative. We might retaliate or we might do the same to them. If we take revenge or we do not want to forgive them, we actually are allowing evil to take control, which is against what God’s want of us. Unforgiveness breeds hatred and malice. Its a fertile ground for more troubles. The devil likes that. God wants us to have peace with all men. So when we forgive others, we will not remember the wrong of others. We are allowing peace and harmony and good will to reign in us and among us. We are avoiding conflict with others. If we forgive others, only then will God forgive us. Let us be quick to forgive others and free ourselves from trouble.
“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”( 1 Thessalonins 5:18)
Accepting with humility what comes our way, whether good or bad is something that God wants us to do. To be thankful is to make ourselves to act positively and to acknowkedge that God is in control of all situation or circumstances. A thankful heart protects the heart from disatisfaction, anger or malice. A thankful heart is a heart which is free and happy or joyful. Humility will douse the flame of discontentment, anger or unthankfulness. It will kill jealousy and pride which bring more trouble to the soul. So God wants us to accept what comes our way because in the end, it will turn out good for those who loves Him.
” Bear fruits, worthy of repentance.” (Matthew 3: 8)
What did John the baptist mean by this verse? The Pharisees wanted to be baptized too but John did not believe that they are sincere at all. He was presuming that they just want to please the people that they want to repent. In repentance, mere words of confession might not be enough to prove that we have repented. A person who truly repent will show some kind of fruits or work that point to the fact that he or she had repented. When we no longer do the bad things that we used to do and there are good works that we are doing after that, it shows there is a fruit of repentance. If we have told a person that we forgive him or her, do we still get angry with the person concern? If no, what else did you do to prove that we have forgiven the person. What nice deeds you do to the person on top of forgiving the person is the fruit. If we have repented of our sins, we must do something that prove that we have repented. Fruits are the proof.
” As iron sharpens iron, a friend sharpens a friend.”( Proverbs 27: 17)
Nobody is an island! is a very popular phrase. But many people want to be alone because they have their i phone, ipad or mobile phone with them! This is what is happening today, sad to say. However, we cannot live with hand phone, because when we are sick, it won’t be able to carry us to the hospital! Even if if call someone with the handphone, there will be a reluctant person because there is no close attachment really. We need a friend or friends because their company will help us in many ways. To be wise, be with the wise! We can gain skill from those who are skillful. Tht’s where we are being sharpened. Kind words lift us and when we are in difficulty, there are people who are ready to help us, especially our close friends. How to make friend? Easy, invite people for breakfast, meal and you. That will start your friendship. True friends do not victimize others or take advantage of others. In the old days, my people live peacefully because they love to share their daily catch such as boar meat, fish or fruits.
” Because of the increase of weakness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.”( Matthew 24: 12-13)
Increase of wickedness is due to lack of discipline of a person from preventing it to happen. The wickedness of the heart, if released will eventually take over. What gave us the strength to prevent the rise of wickedness in us is our love for the truth, our love for God and our love for people. When love decreases, wickedness will increase. The verse says, if our love eventually grow cold, then wickedness will take over. But those who remain and stand firm to the end will be saved. So we need to ensure that our love for God remains strong and firm.
“Not by might nor by power but by my Spirit’ says the Lord of hosts
Many of us are working so hard in ministry, climbing up and down mountains. Encouraging people to go to fellowship and attending meeting for hours and at the end of the day, our effort does not reach our expectation. We feel that by working so hard, we can achieve what we want. We get tired and burned out. The verse above tells us something that we must remind ourselves when we are engaged in ministry. We must know that this is God’s ministry and God can help us. We have to ensure that the Holy Spirit is involved. How? We need to pray and request for direction. Many of us always depend on personal ability or skills or influence to get others to accept Christ. Let the Holy Spirit does it for us because only God can convict an individual. If the Spirit is there, everything will be done.
: Then the Lord replied, ” Write down the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end, it will speak, and it will not lie.” ( Habakkuk 2: 2)
God always speak to His prophets in visions or dreams of the night. God asked Habakkuk to write the vision so that people who read it will act upon it. How many of us had seen a vision from God and acted upon it? One well known preacher said that we need to write it down and pray for God to reveal it to us. To write it dwon will give us time to understand it lest we forget. God instruction to write it down means God wants us to know and remember the vision becaue it will surely happen, at the appointed time. True, some of the visions that came to me happened. So it is important that I pray for God to reveal it to me. We then can pray about it so that if it concern oursleves, we can make our request known to God.
“ For God may speak in one way or another. Yet man does not perceive it. In a dream or vision of the night, whene deep sleep falls upon men, while slumbering on their beds, then He opens the ears of men and seals their instruction. In to turn man from his deeds and conceal pride from man, He keeps back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.” ( 33: 14-18)
I notice God’s mercy in this verse, where God will convicts or tell us before hand our mistakes so that we do not continue to sin and be condemned. Warning us before dangers show how God love us and want us to be safe. Only God can see what is in front of us. He warned king Abmelech not to take Abraham’s wife. He warned Joseph to go to Egypt to bring the baby Jesus there. Who dare to tell king Nebuchardnezzar that he will be removed unless God give him dreams. Many of us will not listen to the advise of others due to human pride… but God will speak in our dreams to go through our pride.
“So the Lord stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel, the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua, the son of Jehozadak, the high priest and the spirit of the remnant of the people and they came and on the of the Lord of hosts, their God. (Hagai 1: 14)”
The verb, stirred up is what I want to focus here. Being stirred up means to be excited about, to be full of zeal and be encouraged to do something. In this case, these people was suddenly sitrred up at the same time. It is something for us to know that God can move everyone to do something at the same time. The Holy Spirit can stir us to be united in spirit, or to together to do something. This one act of God’s Spirit that many people forgot. To mobilize people, to get people to be united at the same time, we can rely on the Holy Spirit. The reason is, if God’s Spirit dwells in all of us, He can bring us into unity with Him and with one another. The idea of having different opinion has to be relooked. God’s Spirit is the uniting factor for all Christians. That is why, every Christian will only submit to God and not to someone with differing views.
” For the lack of vision, my people perish ( Proverbs 29:18).” Or without a vision, my people perish. Vision here is not coming with a vision for our church like making a vision statement. That is not what it means. It means, God given ” vision” like a revelation, such as prophetic vision. In the Old Testament, God always use vision to speak to the prophets. Even the minor prophets writing begin with… a vision… The entire book of Revelation, for instant is a vision given to John. God speaks to the prophets through dreams and visions. They see something and they obey or follow. The above verse reminds us that if there is no revelation from God, we will not know what is going to happen. If we do not know what is going to happen, for sure we would be in trouble. In the Old Testament, God will reveal something to the prophets and the prophets will tell the king. But sometimes there were fewer visions because of the dearth of the prophets or the disobedience of the people. So visions might not come due to sins or disobedience or ignorance. God wants to speak to every person. To ensure that God gives us vision, our heart must desire for it and must be cleanse of deceit or sins. Let God gives us vision so that we would be able to know what is coming to us.
“Woe to him who piles up stolen goods and makes himself wealthy by extortion.” ( Habakuk 2: 6
This is one verse that would not make the people of Israel happy, epecially those who were wealthy. Many people are wealthy due to opportunity that they took over the misery of others. Some prosper over the ruin of others. Some extort from those who cannot defend themselves. Those who are vunerable can easily be cornered by certan people who would can cause fear and make people submit to them. Although not all wealth are through cheat or deciet, most are often due to some corrupt practices. This God is not pleased. In fact, God who is a just and holy God does not approve of wealth through such corrupt practices or through threat or exortion. We just cannot run away from something evil that we do because God will ensure justice pervail.
This verse refers to and visions when men sleep. God send His instruction through dreams or visions. So spiritual dreams or visions are important for us to know about ourselves. God sometimes tell us of our sins or our weakness. He convicts us but not to condemned us. God do not want us to be condemned. In this website I had experienced dreams and visions. These really helped to know my condition. The only time man is not is when he sleeps. In fact we are so busy that we do not hear His voice. So He speaks to us while we sleep. But some ignore it or don’t respond to the message and we keep on repeating the same mistake. So let us be mindful of some dreams or visions that could help us in our Christian walk.
“Do horses run on the rocky crags? Does one plow the sea with oxen? But you have turned justice into poison and the fruit of righteousness into bitterness- you who rejoice in the conquest of Lo Debar and say, ‘Did we not take Karnaim by our strength?’
God does not permit us to do something that we all know is not good or right. For instance, horses would not want to run on rocky crags, or how to plow the sea with oxen? The oxen will drown and who can plow water? God gave us common sense so that we need not crack our heads to do what is right. But that is what many are doing. Something we are not suppose to do, we do. Something such as justice, we turn into poison. In other words, what is bad, we say good. Worst of all, we forgot about God by saying what good we have done, is due to our own strength or our own effort! One of the gravest mistakes that we make is to ignore God in our life. There are people who say there is no God. There are also those who know, there is God but will ignore Him. There are people who know God but seldom acknowledge Him. We all need to come back to God and to listen to God so that we do not do things that will prevent the blessings of God from pouring upon our lives.
Genesis 19: 4-5
” Before they had gone to, evry man from every part of the of Sodom, both young and old- surrounded the house. They called Lot, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us so that we can have sex with them.”
This problem was the main reason for Sodom and Gomorrah to be destroyed. The problem of homosexuality was not something good. Like all sins, these are not good eventhough we want to do it. The human desire wants to follow his or her own desire- saying that he should do it but God said, that is evil and wicked- this is sin. Even though we like to do something, we are not permitted to do because God prohibited. What God prohibits, no man should do. The problem with man is he said that it is his right. But what right do we have if our life is in God’s hand?
“Have mercy on me, Lord…”( Psalms 6:2)
“Son of David, have mer
